Thousands Of Protesters March Down Chicago’s Michigan Ave.To Deliver A Message America’s Mortgage Bankers

Thousands of people streamed into the streets of downtown Chicago at rush hour this evening. Take Back Chicago brought together a broad range of people representing labor, community organizations, Occupy Chicago and many others. Here we see the march as it turns up Michigan Ave. heading towards the Art Institute where the Mortgage Bankers were meeting for cocktails as they hold their annual convention.
In this series of clips we see the protesters as they turn up Michigan Ave.. Then as the wealthy elite sip their cocktails a couple of dozen protesters are arrested. Afterwards the police clear the streets. It must be noted that both police and protesters acted treated each other with respect and there was no violence.
This has been true of all the events that I’ve observed for the past couple of weeks as the Occupy Chicago occupation in front of the Federal Reserve has unfolded. The police have been very low key and the protesters have acted in a peaceful manner at all times.
We at MindsiMedia are covering this growing movement that has been sparked by Occupy Wall Street. On ChiTownView we cover Occupy Chicago and related events. On Mindsi2 we have a playlist called Occupation TV where we present clips of various occupations. We also maintain on this blog an updated listing of occupations all over the globe.
