Former FBI Agent And Counter Terrorism Expert Michael German Speaks Out

The terms former F.B.I. agent and spokesman for the A.C.L.U. aren’t often used in the same sentence but here we are making a welcome exception. Today we are presenting a three part interview with Michael German a sixteen year veteran of the bureau. Mr German is more than just a former agent he is one who specialized in domestic terrorism and was involved in several undercover operations that prevented attacks.

Wanting to make the public more aware of the continuing deficiencies in FBI counter terrorism strategies he left the bureau in 2004. He split his time between his own consulting company Hotei Consulting and being an adjunct professor at the National Defense University School for National Security Executive Education. His writings have also appeared in the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle and the National Law Journal. In 2006 he joined the A.C.L.U.’s Washington DC’s office as Policy Counsel on National Security, Immigration and Privacy.

The three part interview we are presenting today was posted on YouTube by the Libertarian Party and can be found on our Mindsi2 station in our Right Wing Terrorism In America / War Against The Future  play list. On Mindsi2 we present a series of play lists we call the American Empire series where we trace the expansion of America’s overseas empire from the Spanish American war to our present day war on terror.

An interview with a highly-qualified, reliable person. A wonderfully, revealing interview! I find it very timely that former FBI, CIA, NSA agents and staff, more recently military personnel, are increasingly coming forward and revealing the criminal dishonesty that is sanctioned by the U.S. President and cabinet officials. Currently in focus is the illegal treatment of a U.S. soldier, Bradley Manning. Members of Congress should demand his immediate release, with compensation for the torture to which U.S. Army generals have subjected him. Such “generals” are simply political prostitutes, and unfit to wear the insignia of the U.S.A.

The transfer of Bradley Manning from the U.S.Marine Stalag to a U.S. prison is the first step in a better – not the proper, U.S.Constitution-guaranteed – direction. Time will tell just how much better the transfer will prove to have been.

That U.S. Army and U.S.Marine “generals” condone such unconstitutional deportment is difficult to believe. What happened to the type of on-the-ground-general who led U.S. troops to victory in the 1st “Gulf War”, with negligible losses? While his overweight supervisor conducted dinners and ass-kissing with Rumsfeld at 5-star hotels? And, criticized him for not moving swifter and permitting more American Soldiers to be killed – ! Have all “generals” evolved into political brown-nosers? Similarly, the negligence of members of the Congress of the United States of America, who have not intervened, definitively, in the Bradley Manning case ?

I find it remarkable that increasingly, judges at all levels have gained insight into the fact that they are not “brown-nosers” to politicians. The loss in Tucson of the scholar of the U.S.Constitution, and very fine gentleman, John Roll, may have awakened a few hundred judges. The ones with “brown” on their nose should simply clean it off, and concentrate on their job-descriptions, regardless of who, how and why they were elected or appointed. The U.S. of America can be salvaged, and honest pursuit of their roles will lead to the recovery.
