Look at Germany on Solar Energy

Over the past few months, I have visited a number of solar contractors and attended solar conferences in Germany. The developments that I have witnessed in the German solar industry are truly mind-blowing. From what I’ve seen, I’m in disbelief that the legislature of the Sunshine State has voted against any long-term funding of solar energy.

A recent open house of a local solar contractor drew a crowd of several hundred visitors. From a scissor lift that the company provided, each visitor could get a view of the roof and open field photovoltaic systems installed on the company’s property. From up high, I could see 911 killowatts of solar panels. It struck me that I had the equivalent of 75 percent of all photovoltaic panels that were installed under the solar rebate program in Florida in fiscal year 2007 in my view.
