A Report From The War on Drugs. A Fight Against The Future?
We have been fighting a war on drugs for almost a hundred years. Or more specifically a war against drugs that make you feel good mentally. We allow all kinds of drugs to treat your body and we recognize that in their use people are going to misuse them and there are going to be bad consequences that come for their misuse. But when it comes to drugs that make your mind feel good we have a huge problem with that.
Why is that? My thought is that making your mind feel good is supposed to be the province of organized religion. And if there is a whole range of drugs out there that make you feel good well than you don’t have to turn to their God. Today we look at MDMA aka as ecstasy or X. We meet the man behind it and the story about how it became illegal.
First let’s take a look at the man who first used the formula to create the drug. And for years it was being used to treat psychological problems by therapists. Meet Sasha Shulgin, Psychedelic Chemist
And here is part one of five part report from ABC news that is a fairly honest look at the drugs history.
Now what do you really think, is fighting this drug a huge waste of money? Wouldn’t we be better off removing its manufacture from the illegal sphere and then further refining and testing this drug to find how it can be used to help people?
