An Afternoon At Chicago BluesFest, Part 1 Rambling Jack Elliott

Went down to take in the BluesFest that takes place every year in Grant Park on Chicago’s lakefront. Although it was raining when we got there it soon stopped and I saw some great performances.  Starting out with one of the legends of  American roots music Rambling Jack Elliott a musician, cowboy, wanderer, an influence on generations of musicians. He lived with Woody Guthrie and  was a mentor for Bob Dylan. He put on a great set in between the raindrops. Here is the last two numbers of his set,  “San FranciscoBay” and “Diamond Joe” with a couple of stories thrown in.

Jack has released over 40 albums and you can visit his web site where you will find his music and much more about this American original.

My Sunday afternoon at Bluesfest was outstanding I saw many great performers and have some clips I will be sharing with you. this is one of a series of online projects produced by MindsiMedia.
